Imaging equipment: Canon 450d on Skywatcher 130pds telescope and HEQ5 Pro mount.
M101 lies in the constellation of Ursa Major. Forming a triangle with Alcaid and Mizar in the Big Dipper handle. It is positioned almost directly overhead in the late March and early April late evening sky.
The galaxy is quite faint with an apparent magnitude of 7.9.
My final image was the result of stacking 377 x 60 second exposures giving in a total integration time of 6 hours and 17 minutes.
The original frames were taken over four consecutive evenings between 20th and 23rd April 2022.
